Will Campbell sharing The Columbian's history
A Little History. A Lot of Technology.
Members of the Southwest Washington High Tech Council stepped behind the scenes at The Columbian for an engaging look at the history, technology, and people behind one of our region's most recognizable institutions.
Four Generations. One Remarkable Legacy.
Our tour was led by Will Campbell, editor and fourth-generation co-owner of The Columbian. His great-grandfather, Herbert J. Campbell, purchased the newspaper in 1921, beginning a family legacy that continues more than a century later.

More Than Ink and Paper
From impressive printing equipment to the evolution of newspaper production, the tour offered a look at how journalism, engineering, manufacturing, and technology intersect.

A Tour Worth Taking!
This experience also highlighted the potential for student career exploration, bringing together journalism, communications, technology, and manufacturing in a single setting.
