Question: Brad, what are your biggest opportunities to sustain a robust, skilled workforce at Kyocera?

At Kyocera one of the ways we attempt to sustain our workforce is by offering competitive benefits including a 401K plan, with 95% of Kyocera’s US workforce currently enrolled. Additionally Kyocera still provides a pension plan for all employees which I believe only about 15% of companies still offer.  Much time is spent on both internal training and external training with organizations like the Machinists Institute.  Most importantly Kyocera is a very philosophical company and we constantly remind employees of Kyocera’s philosophy which is “Do what is right as a human being.”

Question: What is the most important shift you expect in our industry over the next year, and how are you preparing for it?

"I cannot help but think about AI and how this is affecting not only the semiconductor manufacturing industry but all industries.  At Kyocera, we have begun brainstorming how we can better utilize AI while keeping our data confidential. We already use the Microsoft ecosystem with much of our data being stored in OneDrive; going forward we want to use Microsoft’s AI Foundry platform in combination with our data in OneDrive to improve our data analytics and reporting."

Question: What fuels your passion for developing your team in a way that elevates the customer experience?

"At its core, Kyocera is a manufacturing-driven organization, founded in 1959 with 67 consecutive years of profitability. We operate with a lean philosophy, emphasizing cross-training so employees are equipped to perform a range of jobs and tasks. This approach fosters a strong sense of ownership and pride, while enabling employees to adapt quickly and focus on whatever is needed to consistently deliver products that meet-and exceed-our customers’ expectations."

Focus: Advanced ceramics, semiconductor components & precision manufacturing.

Why they stand out:

Known for precision manufacturing and deep materials‑science expertise, the Vancouver team produces high tech ceramic components used in semiconductor processing equipment in addition to various aerospace and industrial applications.

With decades in Southwest Washington, Kyocera Vancouver provides end‑to‑end capability — from materials engineering and prototyping to precision fabrication and production — all backed by a culture of quality, innovation, and technical excellence.
